It is hard for many to accept the idea that they are overweight because they are subconsciously choosing to be fat. Many will make any excuse possible in order to not be at fault. They’ll say that they have a slow metabolism, are big boned, are just born husky, it’s some medication making them fat, their parents were fat, or they just don’t have time to exercise. I know because I used them everyday too.
I never really cared about my self image until my weight was thrown at my face like a ton of bricks. Let me explain, I think I’m pretty good at talking to girls. I can make them laugh, I focus on them, and we have a great time. Somehow though, I would always end up taking a backseat while they go out with the guy with firm toned abs and a total useless personality. You know what I’m talking about, the big jock who can barely tie his own shoes and drags his knuckles.
Anyways, I started asking myself and my friends what I can possibly change in order to start getting girl’s numbers and so I did. Great advice, right?… I did a lot of web surfing to find the most useful information possible to losing weight and getting rock hard abs. On average, most girls like guys with rock hard abs and arms to go with it. So I figured why not go all the way and not just simply lose weight.

GIVING UP TOO MANY CALORIES CAN DESTROY YOUR FUTURE!
Don’t take this the wrong way. Many of us eat much more than we should but in order to get rid of stomach fat we have to continue to eat a certain number of calories on a daily basis in order to maintain proper energy levels. The littlest number of calories that you can take in is is called your resting metabolic rate (RMR). If you eat less calories than your resting metabolic rate then your body will decrease your RMR in order to adapt to how much you’re eating. The end result, once you start eating a normal amount of food, you will get fatter faster because you have a lower RMR due to a loss of muscle mass.
Also, the current popular low carbohydrate or no carbohydrate diet is also guiding you to a fatter you. Generally, low-carb diets are successful for initial weight loss due to controlled eating and reduced blood sugar and insulin levels as well as water weight loss due to depleted muscle glycogen (not a good thing). However, low-carb diets also cause the decrease of lean muscle and as a result decreases your RMR, which leads to an accelerated weight gain once you introduce normal eating back.
I don’t know about you but I much rather have the same or a larger RMR because I love eating. So if you get nothing else you should take home that you should never let your resting metabolic rate decrease because then you will need to: A. always limit what you eat for life (i.e. never eating a normal meal again) or B. continue increasing your workout time in order to offset the normal sized meal.
STOP BLAMING YOUR FAMILY GENES FOR YOU BEING FAT

One of the biggest myths that people who are overweight need to overcome. It was difficult for me to to stop thinking about because if you look at my family you would see a long history of obese parents. Because of this history, me and many people that I know believed that we would never get six pack abs. We thought it was just in our genetics to forever carry extra weight around the gut.
My revelation finally came when I realized it was my lifestyle, not my genetics, that plays the biggest role in how thin or overweight I am. Based on my results and the results of my friends, I believe that anyone can become thin and get rock hard abs fast.
For instance, during my research I found that 2 out of every 3 American adults are now considered to be overweight or more, but the American population is made up of a very diverse mix of ethnic backgrounds (i.e. different genetics). America is basically one of the fattest countries in the world (along with Australia). This is due to nothing other than what Americans decide to live each day as (sedentary and full of processed and fast food), and has almost nothing to do with what genes their parents gave them.
So at the end, the one thing where family history does in fact lead to obesity is through what they learn from their parents. Take for example, larger parents are overweight because they are not eating and exercising properly. Obesity is taught to their children only because the children learn and adopt their poor behaviors.
